The Coal Country Chamber of Commerce regretfully announced on Sunday that it is canceling the CCCC Fall Festival in Benld which was scheduled on Saturday, September 26. The chamber cited the reason for the cancellation was issues related to the COVID 19 pandemic.
“After consulting with Chamber members, the Macoupin County Health Department, vendors, and volunteer workers, the CCCC Board of Directors think this decision would be best for the health of the community and the CCCC organization,” Mickey Robinson said.
Recently, the chamber canceled its outdoor summer concert series and the next chamber event is the holiday sparkle and snack with Santa scheduled for Saturday, December 5 in Gillespie.
“The Coal Country Chamber of Commerce hopes that everyone inside and outside the confines of School District 7 keeps healthy,” the chamber added in the statement.
Looking ahead to 2021, the chamber hopes to resume the summer concerts on the Tuesdays of June and July and has already scheduled next year’s fall festival for September 25, 2021.
