The Red Cross is always in need of blood donations, especially during the summer months. The American Red Cross must collect more than 13,000 blood and platelet donations every day for the patients at about 2,600 hospitals nationwide.
The next local drive will be July 12 from 12:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive VFW Hall. Donors will receive a free St. Louis Cardinals Red Cross t-shirt while supplies last.
Blood donations often decline during the summer months when busy summer schedules and vacation plans can cause some donors to be less available to give. It is important to keep the shelves at the American Red Cross stocked with blood products so it is available when patients are in need.
The Red Cross is partnering with the St. Louis Cardinal’s this summer, and you can help save up to 3 lives by donating at the upcoming blood drive.
Donors can make an appointment by visiting redcrossblood.org or they can call List at 618-406-1114. Save time when you donate by using Rapid Pass they day of the drive on RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass to complete your pre-donation reading and health history questions online.
