Illinois Valley Head Start Home Based program extended a thank you Cavallo Bus Lines for a memorable family outing after the home-based Head Start program visited the Edwardsville Children’s Museum on Monday, February 26.
Transportation was a difficulty as the number of families that are enrolled in the home based program has greatly increased this school year. Head Start does not have a bus large enough to transport the enrolled families on their required field trips, but CEO Jay Werner of Cavallo Bus was more than happy to provide the families with transportation after learning of the predicament.
More than 20 families participated in the event.
Head Start is an educational program available in the county for families that meet certain criteria. The home based program provides home visitors/teachers that go to the family home 90 minutes a day, one time a week and provide educational materials, games, activities for the parent and child to do together.
