The Coal Country Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for Country Corner (Gifts & More) at 210 E. Central in Benld on Sunday afternoon, November 6. The new store is located in Benld’s business district near First National Bank of Benld.
Present for the ribbon cutting were the store’s owners Anne Stinnett and Chris Cavins along with family members, city officials and members of the Coal Country Chamber of Commerce.
“We are very proud of our store,” Stinnett told The BenGil Post in October. The store opened October 11 and is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. You can also reach them by phone at 217-835-4438.
Although most of their inventory is one-of-a-kind décor items, shoppers can find a little bit of everything. The store carries a curated selection of antiques and furniture, jewelry, used books, kitchen items, linens, candles, Gourmet Cupboard items and 18” doll clothes. Currently their décor selection is themed with the autumn and Halloween season.
Many of the jewelry items are handmade making the concepts original and creative. Other unique items sold in the store are clip earrings, tie pins, ashtrays, aprons, cross stitch supplies, charts and floss.
