Ernest Keith Hines, age 64 of Medora, passed away Monday evening, December 5, 2016, at his residence. Keith was born September 30, 1952, in Carlinville, a son of Russell and Violet (Throne) Hines.
Keith graduated from Southwestern High School with the class of 1971. He married Julie Emery on November 20, 1982 in Carlinville. Keith retired after 10 years of service from Mike’s Inc in South Roxana as a mechanic. He had previously been employed at A and B Truck Repair for 10 years and CISCO Steel for five years, both in Carlinville. Keith loved to hunt and fish with his daughter, Alicia.
Keith is survived by his wife, Julie Hines of Medora; daughter, Dr. Alicia (Dr. James) Weidner of Winfield; sisters, Marjorie Allen of Caufield, MO, Evelyn (Franklin) Graham of Brighton and Delores (George) Collins of Brighton; brothers, Glendale “Buck” (Rosie) Hines of Carlinville, Delbert (Brenda) Hines Medora and Ronald (Terry) Hines of Medora; many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and most of all his loyal and loved chocolate lab “Shelby Mae”.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Scott and Lola (Sharp) Emery; brother, WIlliam “Bill” Hines; brother-in-law, Kenneth Allen; brother-in-law, Dennis Emery; nephews, Randy Allen and Michael Collins; niece, Jamie Hines; and great niece, Hope Collins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home in Carlinville where funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Medora Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Blessings Hospice and Palliative Care Carrollton, IL.
