Jasper “Jake” Rovey, 69, of Litchfield, passed away Sunday morning, August 6, 2017, at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield. He was born on September 26, 1947, in Springfield, a son of Amos and Betty (Van Huss) Rovey. Mr. Rovey was a veteran of the United States Army.
Jake was a member of the South Side Baptist Church in Litchfield and worked for Rovey Landscaping where he did mowing and landscaping. Jake enjoyed life by spending it with family and friends, watching Westerns, cooking out and attending auctions.
Jake is survived by his mother, Betty Rovey of Litchfield; children, Wayne (Shawnna) Rovey of Hillsboro, Jason (Rikhonda) Rovey of Washington D.C., Shannon (Jessica) Rovey of Litchfield and Amy Rovey of Litchfield; eight grandchildren; one step granddaughter; brother, David (Sherry) Rovey of Raymond; sisters, Karen (Harry) Pinkerton of Litchfield, Emma (Jim) Bergmann of Greenville, Sharon (Phil) Bryant of Litchfield and Ruth (Mark) Jarman of Litchfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service in Litchifeld. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4:00 until 7:00 P.M. at Litchfield Family Funeral Service. Burial will be in the Rovey Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Montgomery County Cancer Association.
