Louis Joseph “Roy” Dobrinich, 90 of Mount Olive, died Thursday, October 6, 2016, at 8:46 a.m. at his residence. He was born on November 18, 1925, in Carlinville to the late Charles Andrew Dobrinich, Sr. and Anna Bosnjak.
He married Viola Ann Dobrinich on December 17, 1949 in St. Charles, Missouri. She preceded him in death on February 3, 2011. Louis attended Livingston schools. He was a veteran of the Navy after serving in WW II. Following, he retired as a bricklayer. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and deer hunting. He was also admired for his famous deer recipe, deer sausages and slim jims.
Louis leaves behind five sons, Jerry Dobrinich of Gillespie, Perry (Vickie) Dobrinich of Mt. Olive, Larry (Jeannie) Dobrinich of Mt. Olive, Tim (Becky) Dobrinich of St. Louis, MO and David Dobrinich of Mt. Olive; two daughters, Vicki (Gary) Nepute of Mt. Olive and Stacy Dobrinich of Mt. Olive; special nephew, Danny Dobrinich; 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son, Joseph Louis Dobrinich; two granddaughters in infancy; six brothers, Michael, Thomas, Peter, Joseph, Nicholas and Charles, Jr. Dobrinich; and four sisters, Catherine Smith, Anne Russell, Mary Slater and Dorothy Kopec.
A private family graveside service will be held at Chapman Cemetery in Mt. Olive on Saturday, October 22, 2016. The Mt. Olive Area Veterans will perform military rites at graveside.
