Lucille Savage, 104, of Litchfield, passed away Wed., May 31, 2017, at 4:52 a.m. in Hillsboro Rehab and Health Care Center. She was born on July 27, 1912, in Litchfield, a daughter of Newton Monroe and Cleo Estella (Fleming) Cress.
She married Wendell Merle Savage on Oct. 1, 1929 in Kenosha, WI. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1996. Lucille was a member of Union Avenue Christian Church in Litchfield where she had been very active in church functions over the years. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed reading and her lap dogs were very important to her.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce A. Heaps of Litchfield and Carol J. Knudson of Belleview, FL; sister, Dorothy (Al) Kahanowich of San Diego, CA; seven grandchildren, Mike (Marie) Knudson, Matt Knudson, Molly Jones, Kevin Heaps, Kelly (Angela) Heaps, Kerry (Haley) Heaps and Kathy (Gary) Wolf; 18 great-grandchildren, Chris Heaps Dexheimer, Kara (Mike) Bono Heaps, Tara (Mark) McClure, Tracy (Joe) Stein, Travis (Brittney) Cunningham, Mike Cunningham, Dylan Heaps, Nickole (Josh) Wright (Heaps), Jason (Dawn) Heaps, Andrew Heaps, Alex Heaps, Jordan Heaps, Arielle Heaps, Kalyn Jones, Wesley Jones, Katie Knudson, Christian Knudson and Logan Knudson; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Melvin, Marshal, William & Donald Cress; and one sister, Betty Lough.
Funeral services will be held Fri., June 9, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Plummer Funeral Home in Litchfield. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to Union Avenue Christian Church or Hillsboro Rehab & Health Care Center – Activity Fund.
