Norma Eileen Klaus, 92, of Carlinville passed away Tuesday morning, June 14, 2016, at Heritage Health in Carlinville. Norma was born in Carlinville, one of seven children, to Frank and Nola Maude Graham.
Norma was a graduate of Carlinville High School, class of 1942. After graduation, she worked in Chicago at the Merchandise Mart. Upon returning to Carlinville, she married Roy A. Klaus in a triple wedding ceremony with Roy’s sisters on November 3, 1946, in Carlinville.
Norma was a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker. She treasured her time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her feisty and independent nature. She was member of Rural Methodist Church.
Surviving are her daughter, Janie (Mike) Lackman, Carlinville; and son, Ron (Bobbie) Klaus both of Carlinville; four granddaughters, Rhonda Schaefer, Misty (Steve) Greim, Lori (Schaefer) Hughes (Clifford) and Kristy (Klaus) Duckels (Robert); 11 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Erma Carrigan of Gillespie, Velma Fellin of Decatur, Marvin Graham of Mt. Zion, Nadine (Kenny) Brockmiller of O’Fallon, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy on October 19, 2014; brother, Lyndal Graham and; sister, Wilma Roberson.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 16, 2016, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Davis-Anderson Funeral Home, Carlinville. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. at the Rural United Methodist Church with Rev. John Curtis officiating. Burial will be in the Bethel Ridge Cemetery.
