Alvera W. Conroy, 101 of Staunton, passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Heritage Health in Staunton. She was born on August 14, 1920, in Edwardsville a daughter of the late Mark and Olinda (Gusewelle) Hambleton.
She married Denver Conroy and he passed away in February of 1979. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton.
She is survived by one son, Alan Conroy (Doris Knop) of Staunton; four grandchildren, Nicole (Ty) Bowser of Troy, Amanda (Rick) Garbin of Staunton, Denny Conroy of Staunton, and Whitney (Tony) DalPozzo of Staunton; three great-grandchildren, Camden & Chloe Bowser and Ryker DalPozzo; and two sisters, Gladys Suhrenbrock of Staunton and Doris Schmidt.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Kuba and two brothers, Orville & Eldon Hambleton.
Private graveside services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2022, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to Staunton Helping Hands Center. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
