David Lee Meyer, 71 of Bunker Hill, died at his residence on Friday, January 31, 2020, at 11:57 a.m. He was born on October 29, 1948, in Alton to Eugene Victor Meyer and Ruth A. (Long) Meyer. He married Angelina “Angie” (Reddo) Meyer on May 1, 1971, in Bethalto. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2002.
He was a retired operator for Local 520. David was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Bunker Hill, American Legion of Bunker Hill, Operating Engineers, NRA and Ducks Unlimited. David was a veteran of the US Army after having served during Vietnam.
He is survived by his children, Chris (Tenille) Meyer of Holiday Shores and Amy (David) Peel of Holiday Shores; grandchildren, Quentin Meyer, Chase Meyer, Taytum Meyer, and Emily Peel; and brothers, Paul M. (Pam ) Meyer of Godfrey, Robert A. (Eileen) Meyer of Staunton, Philip R. (Lori) Meyer of Prairietown, Gerald L. (Barb) Meyer of Staunton.
David was preceded in death by his parents; spouse; and brothers, James S. Meyer, John J. Meyer and Mark E. Meyer.
Visitation services will be held on Friday, February 7, 2020, at Kravanya Funeral Home in Bunker Hill from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services are Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bunker Hill Cemetery, Bunker Hill. Memorials are suggested to Shriner’s Hospital, Bunker Hill American Legion or Honor Flight. Kravanya Funeral Home, Bunker Hill is in charge of the arrangements.
