Homer G. Pinson, 90 of Benld, passed away at 6:55 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Gillespie. He was born on October 22, 1928, in Warren, AR the son of the late Charlie and Hattie (Stuard) Pinson.
Homer married Carol Rutherford on September 20, 1958 in Alton. He worked at Boeing as an inspector. Homer was a proud veteran of the Korean War and member of The American Legion Post 564 in Worden. He loved anything to do with a guitar, giving lessons, and playing in The Country Bumpkins Band that traveled to nursing homes in the area.
In addition to his wife, Carol, he is survived by four children Mike (Kristine) Pinson of Worden, Michelle Whitehead of Decator, Martin (Cindy) Pinson of Oakville, MO, and Melissa (Tim) Trame of Breese; eight grandchildren; brother, Curtis Pinson; sister, Christine (Larry) Wolff; sister in law, Merline Pinson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Olin Pinson; sister, Audrey Main; and sister in law, Judy Pinson.
Per his wishes his body will be donated to Medical Science through Washington University. A memorial service to be held at a later date. Memorial may be made to The American Legion Post 564 in Worden. Anderson Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
