John Edward Pickett, 70 of Gillespie, died at Carlinville Area Hospital, Carlinville on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at 4:38 a.m. He was born on May 31, 1952, in Litchfield to William Pickett and Isabelle Murray Pickett.
He was a retired auto salesman.
He is survived by his children, Jaimi (Jay) Reid of Gillespie and Jennifer Pickett of Gillespie; grandchildren, Aiyanna Taylor, Davian Taylor, Paxton Reid, Jiles Lyons Jr., Atlen Lyons, and Haze Berisa; siblings, Jim (Carolyn) Pickett of Gillespie, Dan Pickett of St. Louis, MO, and David (Pam) Pickett of Gillespie; and former wife, Linda Pickett of Gillespie.
John was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Marianne Altevogt.
