Kay Kilduff, 76 of Staunton, passed away at Heritage Manor in Litchfield on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at 8:10 p.m. She was born on October 22, 1942, in Prairietown, a daughter of the late Wilbur “Bud” Bird and the Late Alberta “Bertie” (Johnson) Schnur. She married Robert J. “Bob” Kilduff on July 2, 1960, in Staunton and he preceded her in death in 2001.
Leona worked as a police dispatcher for the Staunton Police Department. She was the owner and operator of Mode O’Day Dress Shop in Staunton and later started Kay’s Ladies Apparel in Staunton. She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Staunton and an active volunteer for the Staunton Little League and Cubs Scout. In addition, she was the Sunday School Teacher at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Staunton.
She is survived by two sons, James (Dana) Kilduff of Staunton and Jeff (Karen) Kilduff of Greensboro, NC; five grandchildren, Kristen, Cooper, Emily, Walker, and Nathan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2019, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at 10 a.m. at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Father Larry Anschutz officiating. Burial will follow at Prairietown Lutheran Cemetery in Prairietown. Memorials are suggested to the Staunton Police Department.
