Larry E. Graves, 85 of Staunton, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021, at his residence in Staunton. He was born on March 6, 1935, in Syracuse, KS, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carl and Henrietta Graves.
He married Shirley A. Mathias on December 23, 1961, in Syracuse, KS and she passed away on December 2, 2016. He worked as a carpenter and was a partner of Graves Brothers Construction in Staunton for many years. Larry served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1956.
He is survived by two sons, Troy (Lynette) Graves of Staunton and Scott (Joann) Graves of Foley, Alabama; six grandchildren, Ashleigh (Paul) Hamilton, Kacy (Stewart) Heim, Chelsea Marinacci, Mindy Graves, Missy Graves, and Dustin Graves; three great-grandchildren, Blayne Pirok, Knox and Merrik Hamilton; two sisters, Martha Beauchamp of Colorado and Shirley Stinchcomb of Wyoming; brother, Merle Graves of South Dakota; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Fred Graves.
No services are scheduled. Per his wishes, Larry will be donated to St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. Memorials are suggested to Staunton VFW Post #1241. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
