Linda Sue Dean, 56 of Mt. Olive, died Monday, April 27, 2015, at 1:19 a.m. at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. She was born on March 30, 1959, in Wood River, IL to Painter Gray and Bobbie Ramage.
She married Bruce Allen Dean in Wood River on October 10, 1990, and he preceded her in death on November 17, 2008. Linda was a certified nursing assistant for 25 years. She loved crocheting, quilting, and watching movies, but especially loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Linda leaves behind two sons: Michael (Brandy) Gray of Mt. Olive and James Forgy, Jr. of Inkster, Michigan; step-son, Colt (Heather) Dean of Benld; daughter, Wendy (Joe) Susack of Blacklick, Ohio; brothers: Homer Gray of California and Roscoe Gray of Staunton; sisters: Diane Rayburn of Mississippi, Peggy Hart of Mississippi, Rebecca Lee of Louisiana, Bobbie Jean Valdez of Wood River Jude Houston of Staunton; nine grandchildren: James Kerley, Emylee Clark, Ramsey Kerley, Ethan Susack, Kirsten Kerley, Haven Forgy, James Forgy III, Damian Dean, Rya Lewey and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Painter Gray; mother, Bobbie Ramage Gray; husband, Bruce Allen Dean; sister, Bonnie Woodward and grandson, Brayden Dean.
Visitation services will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Becker & Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, April 30, at 11 a.m. at Becker & Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive. Burial will be at Mt. Olive City Cemetery with Reverend Lee Jackson serving as the clergy.
Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Olive Academic Foundation.
