Lois Marie Meehan, 95, of Bunker Hill, died at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehab Center in Jerseyville on Saturday, November 24, 2018. She was born on September 9, 1923, in New Berlin to Anton Mullink and Kathryn (Sneeringer) Mullink. She married Thomas David Meehan Jr. on August 30, 1945. He preceded her in death on October 29, 1989.
She was the owner/operator for Meehan’s Grocery Store. Lois was a former member of St. Mary’s Church, Bunker Hill. She was a member of St. Ann’s Altar Society and Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Bethalto.
She is survived by her children, Judy (Barry) Steinberg of The Villages, FL, Nancy (Ron) Bray of Gillespie, Thomas (Karen) Meehan III of Roodhouse, Pat (Glenda) Meehan of Bunker Hill, and Mike (Crystal) Meehan of Rockbridge; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lois was the oldest of the 12 Mullink children, Gene (Marie) Mullink of Bunker Hill, Alice (Allan) Greeling of Bunker Hill, Jane Diestelhorst of Bunker Hill, and Ruth Ann Beiermann of Carrollton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; brothers, Harold Mullink, Leonard Mullink, James Mullink, Thomas Mullink, and Frank Mullink; and sisters, Zella Rhoades and Betty Scott.
Visitation services will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Kravanya Funeral Home, Bunker Hill from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be November 28, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Bethalto with Father Chuck Edwards officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bunker Hill. Memorials are suggested to St. Mary’s Cemetery or donor’s choice. Kravanya Funeral Home, Bunker Hill, IL is in charge of the arrangements.
