Mario Raymond Dal Pozzo, 71 of Staunton, died Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at his residence with family by his side. He was born on November 13, 1948, in Litchfield, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond “Jeff” & Doris (Knabel) Dal Pozzo.
He married Deborah Ritchie on October 10, 1970, and she survives. Mario served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1974. He worked as a computer programmer at Granite City Steel in Granite City for many years. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and being with his family. Mario loved hanging out at “Mr. T’s” and “The Alleys”.
He is survived by wife, Deborah Dal Pozzo of Staunton; one daughter, Tamara (Julian) Dal Pozzo Ramirez of Swansea, three grandchildren, Ashleigh (Daniel) Feldmann of Staunton, Peyton Bernot of Benld, and Rylee Bernot of Benld; four great-grandchildren, Elexia, Jace, Jax, and Emreigh Feldmann of Staunton; two sisters, Karen (Mike) Luchtefeld of Trenton and Tami (Brian) Kershaw of Staunton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey Dal Pozzo.
There will be no public visitation due to COVID-19 protocol. Private family services will be held Monday, May 11, 2020, at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton with Pastor Debbie Jo Atkins officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to The American Lung Association or to the Staunton Sports Boosters. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
