Marvin J. Little, 84 of Staunton, passed away at 7:11 PM on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at River Crossing in Edwardsville. He was born on August 26, 1937, in Litchfield, the son of the late Marvin and Barbara (Paur) Little.
He married Joyce (Klein) Leyden in August of 1968 and she survives. Marvin was employed as a supervisor in the Blast Furnace Department at Granite City Steel in Granite City for over 30 years. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the USS Thetis Bay Shipmates, and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Staunton. Marvin enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife Joyce, he is survived by four children, Patty (Bill) Miller of Staunton, Kim Hess (Greg Hancock) of Normal, IL, Jay (Irena) Little of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Ann Little (Ricky Pike) of Ft. Worth, TX; 10 grandchildren, Scott Miller, Brett Miller, Matt Miller, Taylor Rogers, Merritt Little, Mason Little, Mia Little, Eva Munks, Ezra Pike, and Silas Pike; two great-grandchildren, Violet Miller and Emerson Miller; sister, Barbara Ann (Jerry) Helfrich of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister.
No services are scheduled at this time. His remains were donated to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.
Memorials are suggested to either Adopt-A-Pet of Benld, Illinois or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Williamson Funeral Home, Staunton, is in charge of arrangements.
