Merle F. Randle, 82 of Staunton, passed away at his residence in Staunton with family by his side on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. He was born on September 20, 1938, in Worden, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George and Emma (Aldrup) Randle.
He married Ina I. Clements on December 21, 1957, in Worden and she passed away on October 26, 2018. Merle served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a truck driver for Illini Lumber Co. in Staunton for many years.
He was a member of Teamsters and a lifetime member of Staunton Sportsman’s Club. He was an avid fisherman and lived for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by one daughter, Tammy (Eddie) Meyer of Staunton; son, Rick (Tammy) Randle of Staunton; three grandchildren, Kim (Nick) Hayden, Stacee (Chad) Harbin, and Scott Meyer; four great-grandchildren, Cole & Jenna Harbin, Hazel Highlander, and Layton Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers.
No services are scheduled. Memorials are suggested to Adopt-A-Pet of Benld. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
