Nettie Ann Milligan Welch, 86, of Worden, died Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Heritage Health in Litchfield. She was born on July 4, 1934, to Mr. and Mrs. Bert and Mary (Everett) Milligan in Hillsboro. She married Kenneth Welch on July 28, 1956, in Worden.
During her lifetime she worked numerous jobs while maintaining a house and shuttling her children and grandchildren to their activities. Nettie enjoyed long country rides with her husband, yard sales, the “GW” mall, and the flowers in her yard.
Nettie’s joy in life was her family and friends. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a loyal friend. Nettie was always there and showed love and support to everyone who crossed her path, as she never knew a stranger. Her memory lives on through fond remembrances of trips to the Ripson Bridge, family dinners, Bingo, and talks with coffee “jet fuel” at the kitchen table.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth of Worden; her daughter, Gladys (Welch) Arnold of Staunton; her grandchildren, Molly (McMahon) Wells, John (& Rachel) McMahon, Becky Arnold, and Monica McMahon; and great-grandchildren, Landon & Kenzie Wells, Eli McMahon, and her namesake, Nettie Ann Knott; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; her sister Ruby Bourke; and daughter, Maryann (Welch) McMahon.
Graveside services will be held at Worden City Cemetery on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. Memorials are suggested to Worden Volunteer Fire Department in Worden. Williamson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
