Death of Paul Theron Jensen

Published

on

On Sunday, July 14, 2019, Paul Theron Jensen, loving father of four, grandfather of 14, and great grandfather of five5, passed away at the age of 76 following complications from a car accident.

Paul was born on April 2, 1943, in Merriman, NE to Paul Emil and Ruth Alberta (Trogdon) Jensen. After serving his country as an airplane structural mechanic, he worked as a tree trimmer for Illinois Power until his retirement in 2005 from IBEW Local #309. In 1972, he married Rose Katherine Spurney.  They raised four sons, Theron & Tobin from their union, and Bill & Terry from his previous marriage to Betty Lou Berkshier.

Paul held a passion for antique cars. This included classic originals to fully customized street rods. However, his greatest passion was for his Lord God and his relationship with Jesus Christ. He wished to share this love by example. His natural compassion offered him the chance to extend a warm, helpful and caring hand to countless people who crossed his path. Due to his generous spirit and his loving nature he was affectionately thought of as Dad & Grandpa by many.

Paul was preceded in death by his father Paul, his mother Ruth, his wife Rose, and his sister Coetta.

He is survived by his sisters, Cordene and Alverna; his brothers, Conn & Orville; sons, Bill, Terry, Theron, & Tobin; his grandchildren, Seth, Gabrielle, Micha, Hannah, Kayla, Katherine, Kaitlyn, Rosie, Tobin Jr., Kara, Aden, Timothy, Robert, & John; and his great-grandchildren Odin, Kevin, Jaelyn, Sophia, & Caleb.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday, July 18 at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19 at 10 AM at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton.  Memorials are suggested to Paul’s favorite charities listed at https://ptjensen.weebly.com.
