Ricky Dean Gaston Sr., 61 of Staunton, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at the Anderson Hospital in Maryville. He was born on July 20, 1961, in Council Grove, Kansas to Kenton and Hazel (Furman) Gaston.
He married Dianna “DeeDee” Bond on June 4, 1984, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Livingston. They later divorced. Ricky worked at Georgia Pacific in Mt. Olive and later as a truck driver. He enjoyed camping and riding his Harley Davidson. He collected Harley Davidson t-shirts from all over the US.
One of his greatest joys was spending time with his three granddaughters.
Ricky is survived by a son, Ricky Gaston Jr. of Michigan; daughter, Sarah (Kris Ishum) Gaston of Livingston; his parents, Kenton & Hazel Gaston of New Douglas; sisters, Janet Kaysing of Livingston and Julia Gaston of Benld; granddaughters, Emma, Harper, and Brooklyn Ishum of Livingston; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ricky was preceded in death by his grandparents, Blaine & Adellia Gaston and Tom & Gertrude Furman.
No public services are planned. A celebration of life hosted by his family will be held at the New Douglas Community Center in New Douglas on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 2:00 PM.
