Vanita Haddad, 82, of Gillespie, IL, passed away at 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield following a lengthy illness. She was born in Staunton, IL on March 8, 1932 to George and Donna (Lewis) Haddad.
She was educated in the Staunton school system. She was never married.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews: Ted Behrens of Gillespie, Pam (Behrens) Schaefer of Hillsboro, Stephen (Linda) Haddad of Gillespie, John (Jill) Haddad of Benld, Sr. Mary Haddad of St. Louis, Donna (Haddad) Nephew, George Haddad, Ted Haddad and sister in law, Irene Haddad all of Bay City, MI.
Also surviving are great nieces and nephews: Janeen (Mike) Griewing, Danelle (Buddy) Bartels, Tommy Justison, Chris Haddad, Stephanie Haddad, Josh Haddad, Joslyn Haddad, Jamie Hollingshead, Tiffany Andrzejewski, Donnelle Geoguan; great great nieces and nephews: Kameron, Marinne, and Estella Bartels and Brayden Griewing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Alex and Alfred Haddad; sisters, Mary (Haddad) Behrens and Irene Haddad in infancy and great niece Krista Schaefer.
Visitation services will be on Friday, August 22 from, 10 a.m. to noon at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie. Services will be at noon on Friday, August 22 at Kravanya Funeral Home in Gillespie with Rev. Nancy Ribes officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton.
Memorial may be made to Gillespie Benld Ambulance Service or American Heart Association. Kravanya Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
