Wm. Gregory “Dudley” Humphries, 61 of Staunton, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2019, at his residence in Staunton. He was born on March 26, 1957, in Monahans, TX, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Humphries. He married Myra Baugher on September 26, 1981, in Staunton and she survives.
He was employed as an electrician with IBEW #309 in Collinsville. Greg was a very fun loving, outgoing man. He loved taking country rides with his dogs, going camping, four wheeling, and taking float trips with his wife, family, and friends. He also liked to go fishing and scuba diving with his brothers-in-law and movie nights with his sister, daughters and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Myra Humphries of Staunton; two daughters, Ali Johnson of Tampa, FL and Alex (Brandon) Ziegler of Staunton; three grandchildren, Jayden Johnson, Chase & Caleb Ziegler; sister, Rhonda Humphries of Staunton; two brothers-in-law, Mike Baugher of Florida and Randy (Tina) Baugher of Bethalto; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Eddie Baugher and Miles (Betty) Baugher.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 15, 2019, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Williamson Funeral Home in Staunton. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Net Community Church in Staunton with Rev. Derrick Taylor officiating. Memorials are suggested to the family.
