Zelda Anne (Neuhaus) Zuber, 94 of Staunton, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at Heritage Health in Staunton. She was born on June 9, 1925, in Staunton, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William H. and Venita L. (Fritz) Neuhaus. She married Carl Zuber on April 1, 1949, in Staunton and he passed away on June 13, 1992.
She worked as the bookkeeper for Carl’s 66 Service in Staunton. Zelda was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton and was a Ladies Aid of Zion Lutheran Church, treasurer and financial secretary of Zion Lutheran Church, quilting ladies, and Altar Guild. Zelda was a devoted member of her church.
She is survived by one daughter, Gaylene Ocepek of Staunton; one son, Kevin (JoEllen) Zuber of Staunton; four grandchildren, Ryan (Shanna) Ocepek, Jeff Ocepek, Sara (Kevin) Meyer, and Beth Sievers; 10 great-grandchildren, Alex, Lauren, & Lucas Ocepek, Sydney DalPozzo, Laney & Blaine Sievers, Alyssa Ridens, and Lauren & Kennedy Meyer; one sister-in-law, Irene Neuhaus of Staunton; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Ronnie Ocepek; brother, Carl “Bud” Neuhaus; and sister, Ida (& Martin) Przymuzala.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Staunton with Rev. Kelly Mitteis and Rev. Darwin Schrader officiating. Burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Staunton. Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church of Staunton.
