The Illinois Principals Association Kaskaskia Region was pleased to host its 23rd Annual Student Recognition Breakfast on Friday, March 15, 2019, at Greenville University.
Those recognized from District 7 included high schooler Kennen Bertolis by Principal Shane Owsley, middle schooler Emily Schoen by Principal Jill Rosentreter, and elementary student Maris Brill by Angela Sandretto.
The event recognizes a student from each school in the Kaskaskia region for his or her outstanding achievements in and out of the classroom. Approximately 180 students, principals, and parents were in attendance for the event where students enjoyed a buffet style breakfast followed by a motivational speech by Dr. Filby, President of Greenville University.
Students were then individually recognized in front of the audience for their achievements that allowed their selection for this honor. Multiple students also received a $25 Amazon gift card courtesy of Horace Mann and all received a photograph with their principal.
