Ben-Gil Elementary school will be hosting a “Spaghetti with Seuss – Dinner with the Doctor” family literacy night on Thursday, March 6th. This is a free event and all of our Pre-K through 5th grade students and their families are welcome to attend.
Our night will be based around a Dr. Seuss theme and lots of rhythm and rhyme! There will be a delicious dinner, book giveaways, singing, reading games, and even some plays! Families are asked to RSVP by Feb. 28th so we can prepare for the event.
This celebration is made possible through grants from the Illinois Reading Council and the Illinois Title Association. These groups have awarded our school district many grants that have funded of our family literacy nights. They play a major role in supporting and encouraging family literacy events to help develop a home/school partnership that supports student learning and achievement.
