A Gillespie business donated $800 to the Gillespie Caring Center last week saying the community is lucky to have such good people volunteering their time to a great cause.
The business that made the donation was the Village Toy Chest owned and operated by Bill Toprani at 106 South Macoupin in downtown Gillespie near Gotcha Latte.
“We were able to donate $800 to The Gillespie Caring Center using the proceeds from our firework window auctions on Facebook,” Toprani announced via social media. “Gillespie and surrounding communities are so very lucky to have such good people volunteering their time to a great cause.”
He continued by saying the caring center gives to over 400 families a month and that number keeps growing.
Toprani attributed the donation to his customers saying shopping local helps support the community.
