A Gillespie man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for methamphetamine delivery, according to Macoupin County State’s Attorney Jordan Garrison.
Garrison announced on Thursday that Frank D. Ashmore, 29, of Gillespie was sentenced to 10 years for methamphetamine delivery, 10 years for possession of ammunition by a felon, as well as five years for theft.
In March 2020, police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by the Ashmore. Ashmore refused to stop and fled in the vehicle. When the vehicle eventually came to a stop, Ashmore ran from the vehicle. Assisting officers were able to apprehend him; he was found with about 60 grams of methamphetamine.
Ashmore is not eligible for parole until 2027.
