An officer spoke with a male in reference to his children’s welfare, neglect, and abuse of minor children. DCFS was contacted.
An officer was dispatched to the police department to take a report of theft. The case is still under investigation.
TUESDAY, APRIL 30, 2019
An officer was dispatched to the Dollar General Store in Mt. Clare to take a report of someone trying to pass off counterfeit $100 bills.
School Resource Officer took a report of harassment at the school. The suspect was given a warning to have no further contact with the juvenile female or charges may be filed.
School Resource Officer took a report of an abuse from two juvenile students that reportedly took place outside of Gillespie venue. The appropriate police department was contacted and the case was turned over to them.
Mallory R. Kitchens, 30, of Litchfield was arrested for the possession of a controlled substance. The case is pending crime lab results.
Courtney A. Balen, 42, of Gillespie was arrested on a warrant out of Montgomery County for failure to appear for speeding and was transported to the Macoupin County Jail.

An officer was dispatched to the 700 block of South Street to take a report of criminal damage to property.
An officer was dispatched to Staunton Road and Charles Street to take a report of a traffic crash.
An officer was dispatched to the police department to speak with a female in reference to a civil matter.
FRIDAY, MAY 3, 2019
School Resource officer was advised that a male was threatening to leave lunch detention at the school against his parents and schools wishes. The male juvenile was issued a citation for disorderly conduct and released to his mother.
An officer made contact with a male in the 400 block of West Chestnut Street and issued him an ordinance violation for the accumulation of debris.
An officer was dispatched to Big Brick park for juveniles fighting. The officer attempted to make contact with the juveniles but was unable to do so and spoke with the parents.
All subjects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
