Gillespie Middle School announced on Wednesday their leaders of the month for February. Receiving the award was Maria Alger, Emma Gipson, Darci Wolber, Ian Brown, Caleb Weeks, and Caleb Tucker.
Sixth-grade teachers chose Maria Alger, daughter of Barry and Lora Crainick, as their February’s student leader. They state, “Ria is always positive and loves to help other students. She is very reliable and trustworthy”. Ria says, “Being a student leader means having a responsibility of being a role model to everyone around me”.
Seventh-grade teachers chose Emma Gipson, daughter of Rob and Shelley Gipson, as their student leader. Emma says she tries to stay focused on her work, while her teachers say, “Emma shows great work ethic inside and outside the classroom.”
Eighth-grade student, Darci Wolber, has been chosen as this month’s student leader. Darci is the daughter of Abby and DuWayne Wolber. Darci believes that a leader means, “taking charge of something and not being a follower of other people”. Darci uses her class time wisely, asks questions and works hard to get assignments done correctly.
Ms. Bray has chosen Ian Brown, son of Zane Brown and Crystal Avery, as student leader in physical education. She says, “Ian has a good attitude and is willing to help me in any way”.
Ms. Garde has chosen Caleb Weeks, son of Angela Scott, as her student leader. She says, “Caleb is a very polite young man who helps others”. Caleb says, “I’m a good kid and get all my homework done”.
Mrs. Clark chose Caleb Tucker, son of Brandy and Daniel, as her student leader. “Caleb always tries his best and never gives up. He comes to school everyday with a positive attitude and always uses him manners with staff and students”. Caleb says, “Being a leader means helping people do the right thing”.
