Gillespie Middle School released the March leaders of the month on Tuesday. Receiving the award include Leo Li, Hunter Niehaus, Alec Laughlin, Kaeleb Lowry, Logan Rhodes, and Owen Baugh.
Sixth-grade teachers elected Leo Li, son of Hua Guang and Sophia Li, as student of the month. Leo is always on time and works hard. Leo says, “Being a student leader means that I can influence other students do better”. Seventh-grade teachers chose Hunter Niehaus, son of Whitney and Kyle Niehaus, as their student leader because he is proactive. Hunter says that being proactive means making his own choices.
Eighth-grade teachers nominated Alec Laughlin, son of Jacob Laughlin and Whitney Dealey. Alex states, “I learned my leadership skills from my dad because he taught me to become a better person. A leader at GMS follows the rules, does work and doesn’t get in trouble.” Ms. Bray, PE instructor, chose Kaeleb Lowry, son of Deanna and Kyle Lowery, as her student leader. She states, “Kaeleb is a polite young man who works hard every day”. Kaeleb says he is a leader because, “If you can’t do something and someone else can, don’t be rude to them, be inspired by them”.
Mrs. Clark has nominated Logan Rhodes, son of Joel and Terri Rhodes, as her student leader. Logan says, “A leader at GMS helps other students”. Mrs. Prough chose Owen Baugh, son of Stacey and Jennifer Baugh, as her student leader. She says that Owen has good manners, he likes to add to classroom discussions and shares his ideas. Owen states, “A student leader means being responsible, doing the right thing at school and helps others”.
