Gillespie Middle School released their November students of the month last week. Earning the award include Hudson Garwood, Logan Simmons, Alivia Menendez, Connor Darte, Chloe Hedden and Justin Mason.
Hudson Garwood, son of Nadine and Shawn Garwood, was chosen as the sixth-grade student leader of the month for being proactive. His teachers state, “Hudson is always participating and sharing his knowledge with the class in a positive manner”.
Logan Simmons, son of Kim and Glenn Simmons, was elected by his teachers as the seventh-grade student leader of the month. Logan was elected because he is “extremely organized and well-focused on his work at school. He always has his work complete and ready to go at the beginning of class. He is a great representation of GMS”.
The eighth-grade student leader of the month is Alivia Menendez, the daughter of Danielle Dunaway and Jason Menendez. Alivia’s teachers state she is a “student who can brighten anyone’s day with her optimistic and outgoing personality. These traits shine through in the classroom as she interacts with her peers and teachers. Alivia accepts and overcomes challenges and always works to achieve her full potential.”
Seventh-grader Connor Darte was elected by Mrs. Prough as her student leader of the month. Connor is the son of Jason Darte. Being proactive, “Connor is always prepared, on time, takes responsibility for self, doesn’t blame others, recognizes his own strengths and weaknesses, sets goals and works to achieve them”.
Ms. Bray chose seventh-grader Chloe Hedden as the student leader this month in physical education class. Chloe is the daughter of Denita Dyer and Michael Hedden. Chloe was chosen for the habit of ‘Think Win-Win’. “Chloe dresses every day for PE, works hard, gets along with others and is a positive role model.”
Mrs. Clark elected Justin Mason as the student leader in her classroom. Justin is the son of Sean Mason. Justin was chosen for the habit of ‘Synergize’ because he “will always offer to help staff and students without being asked”.
