Grow Gillespie announced on Sunday they had to make a very tough decision in regard to the group’s “Heritage Food Festival” and postponed the event to Saturday, June 27 due to the ongoing concerns regarding coronavirus (COVID-19). The event was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 28 and all tickets purchased will be honored for the rescheduled date.
“Our community’s health, safety and well-being is paramount, and therefore, we believe this is the correct decision given the level of uncertainty surrounding the virus and public events,” the group said in their press release.
The press release continued by saying the event will be an exciting one and they hope the community will join them in making the festival a huge success. They thanked the local authorities, vendors and event partners for their guidance and support in what is a difficult situation for all involved. Lastly, they apologized for any inconvenience the postponement may cause but thank you for your understanding as we work to ensure that we can welcome our community to a safe event.
“To all those involved in making this event happen, we will be in touch soon with further updates and plans,” the press release closed.
