Gillespie High School announced this year’s students recognized as Illinois State Scholars and Silver Medallion Recipient. These top-performing students are selected annually based on their ACT exam, class rank, and academic achievement.
This year’s state scholars include Trenton Gill, Jack Herron, Sydney Bires, Beau Smith, Cole Frensko, Destiny Hughes, and Megan Labby.
The Silver Medallion Recipients are Cameron Hailstone, Anthony Ribes, Sydney Bires, Trenton Gill, Megan Labby, Cole Frensko, Destiny Hughes, Allie Bergen, Samantha Jensen, and Kylie Keniley.
The Silver Medallion Academic Excellence Awards banquet has been held annually since 1988 and recognizes students from 21 area schools. The banquet is recognized as the River Bend region’s premier academic awards ceremony.
