The Macoupin County CEO program is hosting its first annual trade show set for Saturday, April 22 in Carlinville at Cross Church located at 1030 West Main. The tradeshow taking place from 4 to 7 p.m. will showcase the individual businesses created by the 15 students in the class.
Macoupin County CEO is a part of The Midland Institute for Entrepreneurship program that is dedicated to providing entrepreneurial leadership in communities across the country. The Macoupin County group is filled with Macoupin County high school junior and seniors who were selected through a rigorous application process.
The program provides an opportunity for each student to start their own individual business which must be fully financed with their own funding. In addition, the students are required to collaborate and create a class business to raise seed money to help off-set the costs for their individual businesses.
As the end of the first year approaches, the tradeshow will be the execution of everything students have learned and worked on individually to advance their business plan from an idea to reality.
“All members of the public are welcome to see what this diverse group of individuals has imagined and executed,” the program’s press release reads.
