LAWSUITS

Mary L. Combs, Medora, has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Dennis Cullen, Medora, seeking $630 in alleged unpaid rent, plus possession of residential premises located in the 100 block of East Rice Street in Medora.

Adam Gideon, Virden, has filed a complaint in replevin against Stephanie Seidelman, Virden, seeking possession of personal property valued at $1,500 that the plaintiff claims the defendant is unlawfully withholding from him. The property sought, according to the complaint, includes a television, an Insignia tablet, dishes, BB gun, dresser, shelving, kitchen table, microwave, DVD movies, stereo system and speakers, and a full-size mattress and box springs.

Steven Katich, Staunton, has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Mike Kennedy, Wilsonville, seeking $2,040 in alleged unpaid rent, plus possession of residential premises located in the 100 block of School Street in Wilsonville.

Sharon Ferrari, Gillespie, has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Brendan Ferrari, Gillespie, seeking possession of residential premises located in the 200 block of Penny Street in Gillespie.

SMALL CLAIMS

St. Francis Hospital, Litchfield, is suing Wendy L. Broderick, Gillespie, for $835.38, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed for hospital services.

St. Francis Hospital is suing Julie A. Hearn, Gillespie, for $2,947.52, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed for hospital services.

St. Francis Hospital, Litchfield, is suing Patrick Kelly, Bunker Hill, for $908.38, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed for hospital services.

Bank of America is suing Brian L. Anderson, Medora, for $3,652.27, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted credit card account.

Capital One Bank is suing Gail L. Obryan, Staunton, for $3,322.78, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted credit card account.

Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC, is suing Jason Reynolds, Carlinville, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted WebBank/Fingerhut Direct Marketing credit account.

Cavalry SPV I, LLC, is suing Bonnie Zirkelbach, Benld, for $1,529.88, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Synchrony Bank/Walmart credit card account.

Maryville Womens Center is suing Sara Wuthrich, Brighton, for $1,144.88, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is due from the defendant.

One Main Financial Issuance Trust is suing Joshua D. Rives, Sawyerville, for $3,117.88, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted $4,591.47 loan executed in December 2014 at an interest rate of 35.99 percent.

T.D. Auto Finance is suing Jeri K. Bateman, Brighton, for $6,939.42, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted $18,421.86 auto loan executed in July 2012 at an interest rate of 7.03 percent for the purchase of a 2012 Chevrolet Impala from Auto Stop, Inc., in Hazelwood, Mo.

T.D. Bank USA is suing Candida Albert, Bunker Hill, for $1,611.51, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted T.D. Bank/Target credit card account.

Midland Funding, LLC, is suing Karie Krankel, Brighton, for $1,925.60, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Synchrony Bank/Walmart credit card account.

St. Francis Hospital is suing Ashley N. Laurent, Gillespie, for $702.85, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed for hospital services.

Midland Funding, LLC, is suing Nicole Bendorf, Gillespie, for $1,267.35, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Comenity Bank/Victoria’s Secret credit card account.

Midland Funding, LLC, is suing Jon Ulery, Gillespie, for $800.56, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Synchrony Bank/Qcard credit card account.

Midland Funding, LLC, is suing Michelle Gerbeding, Staunton, for $922.04, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Synchrony Bank/La-Z-Boy credit card account

Midland Funding, LLC, is suing Michelle Gerbeding, Staunton, for $4,285.11, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Synchrony Bank/PayPal credit account.

Barclays Bank Delaware is suing Bob D. Carter, Carlinville, for $2,719.70, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted credit card account.

Citibank is suing Brian M. Bequette, Staunton, for $8,352.14, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted credit card account.

Carlinville attorney Larry F. Clark is suing Trevor L. Anderson, Virden, for $6,292.50, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims the defendant owes for legal services.

FELONIES

Matthew S. Konneker, 36, Raymond, is charged with possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer in connection with a Dec. 16 incident at about 3:10 a.m. on Sumner Street in Carlinville. Kenner is accused of disregarding two stop signs while fleeing or attempting to elude a Carlinville police officer who had given both audible and visual signals for Konneker to stop the GMC truck he was driving. In addition to the felonies, Konneker faces traffic charges for improper use of a registration and disregarding a stop sign.

Jonathan Kirkwood, 20, Benld, is charged with possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine in connection with a Dec. 16 incident.

Ronnie W. Swann, 37, Bunker Hill, is charged with failure to register with the violent offender against youth registry for allegedly failing to notify the Bunker Hill Police Department within three days of vacating his former place of residence in the 300 block of North Putnam St. in Bunker Hill.

Justin R. Howerton, 21, Carlinville, is charged with failure to complete his 90-day registration as a sex offender with the Carlinville Police Department as of Sept. 30.

Justin C. Helvey, 29, Benld, is charged with two counts of burglary in connection with incidents occurring on Oct. 30. According to the complaint, Helvey allegedly entered a building in the 100 block of North Hibbard Street, Staunton, with the intent to commit and theft, and entered the Plaza Laundromat in Carlinville with the intent to commit a theft.

Dominique M. Kierbach, 19, Benld is charged with possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine in connection with a Dec. 12 incident in Gillespie.

Chelsea A. Mueller, 26, Carlinville, is charged with possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine in connection with a Dec. 22 incident in Carlinville.

Casey S. Boatman, 29, Carlnville, is charged with possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine in connection with a Dec. 22 incident in Carlinville.

Jerry L.B. McCallister, 31, Trenton, is charged with possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine in connection with a Dec. 22 incident in Carlinville.

Allan M. Springman, 34, Carlinville, is charge with possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine in connection with a Dec. 23 incident in Carlinville. Additionally, Springman faces a traffic charge for improper lane usage.

Christopher J. Overholtz, 33, Troy, is charged with obstructing justice in connection with a Dec. 24 incident at about 12:42 a.m. on U.S. 66 west of Old Reservoir Road during which he allegedly swallowed a quantity of pills to destroy evidence. Overholtz also faces a charge of driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating compound, along with traffic charges for alleged unlawful transportation of alcohol by a driver, failure to reduce the speed of his vehicle to avoid an accident, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and improper lane usage.

Ethan A. Lee, 23, Carlinville, is charged with possession of more than five grams but less than 15 grams of methamphetamine in connection with a Dec. 25 incident in Carlinville.

Dawn L. Shales, 49, Carlinville, is charged with burglary in connection with a Dec. 25 incident during which she allegedly entered a building belonging to Illinois Deer Processing in the 200 block of Mounts Street in Carlinville without authority and with the intent to commit a theft.

Edward B. Z. Dunn, 25, Carlinville, is charged with theft in connection with a Dec. 25 incident in Carlinville during which he allegedly exerted unauthorized control over a Xbox I gaming system valued at less than $500 with the intent to permanently deprive the owner of the property. The charge was elevated to a felony due to a previous conviction on Dunn’s record for retail theft from 2015 in Macoupin County,.

Takoda Harbaugh, 20, Carlinville, is charged with burglary in connection with a Nov. 8 incident in Carlinville during which he allegedly entered a 2002 GMC pick-up truck with the intent to commit a theft.

MISDEMEANORS

John T. Tanner, 28, Brighton, is charged with domestic battery in connection with a Dec. 15 incident during which he allegedly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature by striking his wife in her face with a phone.

Elizabeth K. Malone, 28, Benld, is charged with domestic battery in connection with a Dec. 15 incident during which she allegedly caused bodily harm by striking her male significant other in the head with a decorative Christmas plate.

Joshua Timpe, 19, Staunton, is charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Nov. 16 incident in Gillespie during which he allegedly made threats toward an individual in such an unreasonable manner as to alarm and disturb the victim and provoke a breach of the peace.

Charles M. Myrick, 31, Springfield, is charged with obstructing identification in connection with a Dec. 19 incident in Girard during which he allegedly provided a false name to a Girard police officer who had lawfully detained him.  Myrick also faces traffic charges for speeding 15 to 20 miles per hour of the posted speed limit and driving on a suspended driver’s license.

Ericka L. Cardoza, 46, Maryland Heights, Mo., is charged with criminal damage to property in connection with a Nov. 25 incident in Benld during which she allegedly use a key to scratch the paint on a 215 Chevrolet truck, causing less than $500 in damage.

Several area residents are charged with deceptive practice for allegedly writing checks to Macoupin County businesses while knowing their banks would not honor the drafts. Among those charged: Kevin L. Young, 56, Litchfield, accused on writing bad checks on May 20 and June 7 for $100 and $120, respectively, to Whitlock Chiefs, Inc., Gillespie; Joyce A. Webb, 34, Gillespie, accused of writing a bad check on June 24 for $26.33 to Manu Petro, Carlinville; Rebecca R. Welsh, 43, Girard, accused of writing a bad check on Sept. 10 for $61.67 to Manu Petro, Carlinville; Susan M. Rocha, 56, Gillespie, accused of writing a bad check on Aug. 28 for $50 to Whitlock Chiefs, Inc., Gillespie; Harold M. Walker, 50, Benld, accused of writing a bad check on Sept. 14 for $125 to Whitlock Chiefs, Inc., Gillespie; Samantha R. Walk, 22, Chatham, accused of writing a bad check on July 15 for $2,000 to Freedom Chevrolet, Virden; and Curt A. Deming, 48, Carlinville, accused of writing bad checks on Dec. 27, 2016, and Sept. 9 for $52.05 and $122.17, respectively, to Manu Petro, Carlinville.

William R. Conlee, 22, Staunton, is charged with domestic battery in connection with a Dec. 20 incident during which he allegedly caused bodily harm when he grabbed his mother by her throat.

Ashley N. Thompson, 23, Brighton, is charged with domestic battery in connection with a Dec. 22 incident during which she allegedly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature striking her mother with a thrown object.

Chase R. Clark, 21, Troy, is charged with battery in connection with a Dec. 22 incident in Carlinville during which Clark allegedly caused bodily harm by striking a male victim in the arm with a cane.

Christopher T. Spraggs, Jr., 29, Brighton, is charged with battery in connection with a Dec. 25 incident in Brighton during which he allegedly caused bodily harm by striking a male victim in the face with his fist.

TRAFFIC

William R. Werner, Jr., 21, Staunton, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a Dec. 8 incident. Werner also faces traffic charges for allegedly driving on a suspended driver’s license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage and failing to wear a seat belt.

Joann M. Bone, 41, Staunton, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a Dec. 15 incident. She also faces traffic charges for alleged improper lane usage and allegedly operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Todd S. Pohlman, 55, Alton, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a Dec. 22 incident. He also faces traffic charges for alleged improper lane usage and unlawful transportation of alcohol by a driver.

An officer was dispatched to the 200 block of East Burton Street in reference to an ordinance issue of illegal burning. Charles H. Daubman, 62, of Gillespie was issued a citation for illegal burning.

An officer during normal patrol in the 100 block of South 7th Street in Benld noticed a trunk open on a vehicle. The officer made contact with the owners and they secured the trunk after checking it.
