LAWSUITS

Douglas Daugherty, Modesto, has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Shawn “Larry” Secrets, Girard, seeking $700 in alleged unpaid rent, plus possession of residential premises located in the 700 block of West Third Street in Girard.

William E. Stilwell, Carlinville, has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Ashley N. Vollintine, Carlinville, seeking $1,300 in alleged unpaid rent, plus possession of residential premises located in the 1100 block of North Broad Street in Carlinville.

Hickory Point Bank and Trust has filed a complaint in replevin against Aidan A. Heisman, Mount Olive, seeking possession of a 2014 Yamaha ATV to which the plaintiff claims to be entitled to possess. The complaint claims that Heisman borrowed $9,692.72 at an interest rate of seven percent in February 2015 for the purchase of the vehicle but defaulted on the loan as of August 2017. The suit further alleges the defendant has refused to surrender the ATV or has ignored communications from the lender. The suit seeks possession of the vehicle, plus attorney fees and court costs, or in the alternative a judgment for the $6,393.11 the plaintiff claims is owed on the loan, along with interest, attorney fees and court costs.

Diane Atkins has filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Charles McCaleb and Tiffani Pitchford, Bunker Hill, seeking an unspecified amount in alleged unpaid rent, along with attorney fees, court costs and possession of residential premises located in the 400 block of East Grant Street in Bunker Hill.

Gerald and Shirley Heyen have filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Amy Heyen, Shipman, seeking possession of a residence in the 9600 block of Shipman Road.

Discover Bank is suing Whitney Dal Pozzo, Staunton, for $15,462.71, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted credit card account.

LVNV Funding, LLC, is suing Janet Garrison, Girard, for $1,126.12, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Credit One Bank credit card account.

Capital One Bank is suing Allen J. Wheeler, Chesterfield, for $1,731.46, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted credit card account.

Midland Funding, LLC, is suing Randy Lamare, Carlinville, for $868.60, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Citibank/Zales credit card account opened Sept. 17, 2009.

Merrick Bank Corp., South Jordan, Utah, is suing Brett M. Behl, Piasa, for $1,196.17, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted credit card account.

Cavalry SPV I, LLC, is suing Lisa Jarrett, Gillespie, for $980.38, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on a Synchrony Bank/Amazon credit card account opening Aug. 12, 2012.

J.H. Portfolio Debt Equities, LLC, is suing Christopher Collins, Virden, for $6,266.64, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Citibank credit card account opened June 28, 2014.

Cavalry SPV I, LLC, is suing Kaila Claro, Gillespie, for $2,286.17, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Synchrony Bank/Care credit card account opened April 16, 2014.

Heights Finance, Peoria, is suing Ryan Beasley, Girard, for $1,438.36, plus court costs, along with pre-judgment interest of 32.5 percent and post-judgment interest of nine percent until the judgment is paid. The plaintiff claims the judgment sought is owed on a $1,255.51 loan executed April 21, 2017, at an interest rate of 34.35 percent.

LVNV Funding, LLC, is suing Jessica Brown, Palmyra, for $1,742.05, plus court costs, the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted MetaBank credit card account opened on Jan. 16, 2011.

LVNV Funding, LLC, is suing Michael Smith, Mount Olive, for $891.49, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Credit One Bank credit card account opening Feb. 12, 2013.

Heights Finance Corp., Alton, is suing Heidi M. Stupperich and Andrew W. Gardland, Bunker Hill, for $4,250.84, plus court costs and interest, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted $3,465.43 loan executed March 4, 2017, at an interest rate of 24.4 percent for the purchase of flooring from Illinois Valley Hardwoods.

FELONIES

Nathan A. Jones, 35, Springfield, is charged with aggravated battery in connection with a Jan. 3 incident in Carlinville during which he allegedly caused bodily harm by punching a female victim in the face, breaking her jaw.

Randy L. Cairns, 32, Carlinville, is charged with aggravated battery in connection with a Jan. 4 incident in Carlinville during which he allegedly struck a disabled male victim in the head with his fist.

Mark A. Richardson, 18, Benld, is charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse in connection with an incident on or about Jan. 3-4 in Benld during which he allegedly performed an act of aggravated criminal sexual abuse to a female between the ages of 13 and 17, and who was at least five years younger than the defendant.

Raymond E. Jones, 50, Carlinville, is charged with failing to register as a sex offender for allegedly failing to complete weekly registration with the Carlinville Police Department as of Dec. 30, 2017.

MISDEMEANORS

Jakob D. Stanley, 18, Benld, is charged with criminal sexual abuse in connection with an incident on or about Jan. 3-4 in Benld during which he allegedly performed an act of aggravated criminal sexual abuse to a female between the ages of 13 and 17 who was less than five years younger than the defendant.

Caesae S. Green, 27, Menomonie, Wis., is charged with obstruction of identification in connection with a Jan. 5 incident during which he allegedly provided a false name to an Illinois State Police trooper who had lawfully detained him.

Felicia L. McDowell, 26, Staunton, is charged with criminal trespass to a motor vehicle in connection with a Jan. 6 incident in Staunton during which she allegedly entered a 2013 Chevrolet four-door sedan without authority.

Nicole M. Anderson, 36, Staunton, is charged with domestic battery in connection with a Jan. 7 incident in Staunton during which she allegedly caused bodily harm by pushing her daughter against a wall and pinning her there.

Roni G. Richardson, 19, Carlinville, is charged with battery in connection with a Dec. 28, 2017, incident in Carlinville during which Richardson allegedly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature by pushing a female victim in the chest.

Jacob D. Springer, 33, Bunker Hill, is charged with domestic battery in connection with an Dec. 10, 2017, incident during which he allegedly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature by grabbing his girlfriend and shoving her.

Angela M. Barton, 20, Carlinville, is charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a person under the age of 21 in connection with a Dec. 23, 2017, incident in the 400 block of West First North Street in Carlinville.

Justin Yunker, 23, Palmyra, is charged with assault in connection with a Jan. 11 incident in Palmyra during which he allegedly raised his hand to strike a female victim, placing the victim in reasonable apprehension of receiving a battery.

Staunton man found guilty of criminal sexual assault

A verdict was rendered on Tuesday in about 35 minutes for a Staunton man who was found guilty of criminal sexual assault.

Dillard Dehart Jr., 66 of Staunton, was charged with the offense on February 17, 2022, after his niece had accused him of the offense and had secretly recorded parts of the offense.

The secretly recorded videos were played for the jury, according to Macoupin County State’s Attorney Jordan Garrison who called multiple witnesses and tried the case.

Sentencing for Dehart Jr. is set for October 4, 2023.
