Abby Evans, Staunton, is suing Charlene Giles, Sorento, and Ronald Bell, Kane, in excess of $50,000 relating to an August 24, 2016, accident that occurred around 1:20 p.m. on North Edwardsville Street at the intersection with Bunker Hill Road in Staunton. According to court records, the plaintiff claims she was stopped at the intersection waiting to turn westbound on Bunker Hill Road when Giles struck the rear of her vehicle causing her to sustain severe and permanent injuries to her left leg, neck, lumbar and back, left arm and finger, right foot, as well as anxiety and mental anguish. The lawsuit calls for a jury trial.
Cathy Cimarolli and Susan Pirok have filed a forcible entry and detainer complaint against Joe and Abby Evans, Staunton, seeking unpaid rent of $575, plus court costs and damages, and possession of a residence located in the 800 block of East Pearl, Staunton.

Cheyanne Shaw, 18, Jerseyville, is charged with methamphetamine possession in connection with an August 14 incident in Gillespie when she possessed less than 5 grams of methamphetamine.
Elaina McDaniels, 26, Carlinville, is charged with methamphetamine possession in connection with a May 24 incident in Carlinville when she possessed less than 5 grams of methamphetamine.
Mitchell Hancock, 32, Litchfield, is charged with driving while license revoked and improper use of registration in connection with a July 9 incident in Carlinville when he was driving a 1998 Chevrolet truck when his driver’s license was suspended or revoked. The charge was elevated to a felony due to having three prior convictions for the same violation in Montgomery County in September 2009, April 2016, and October 2016.
Jesse Myers, 28, Springfield, is charged with obstructing identification in connection with an August 18 incident in Carlinville when he furnished a false name to a peace officer after being lawfully detained.
Randy Ellis, 46, Edwardsville, is charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving 11-14 mph above the speed limit, and illegal transportation of alcohol by the driver in connection with an August 18 incident around 9:47 p.m. on Illinois Route 159 one-half mile north of Illinois Route 138.
