LAWSUITS
Regional Acceptance Corp. is suing Wendy M. Cox, Benld, for $12,212.04, plus interest at a rate of 20.95 percent from July 10 to the date of judgment and court costs. The plaintiff claims the judgment sought is owed on an allegedly defaulted auto loan executed Aug. 6, 2012, for $18,051.62 at an interest rate of 20.95 percent for the purchase of a 2008 Saturn Vue from Auto Centers-Nissan, Wood River. The suit alleges the amount due is a deficiency on the loan remaining after the vehicle was repossessed and sold at auction.
One Main Financial Issuance Trust 2014-2 is suing Fred W. Partridge, Mount Olive, for $14,968.17, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted promissory note executed Dec. 31, 2015, for $12,779.72 at an interest rate of 28.99 percent.

Carlinville Area Hospital is suing John and Michelle Lebeane, Carlinville, for $1,008.89, plus court costs, allegedly owed for medical services.
Carlinville Area Hospital is suing Donald G. Wilson, Nilwood, for $1,676.19, plus court costs, allegedly owed for medical services.
Carlinville Area Hospital is suing David and Michelle Cox, Palmyra, for $9,575.41, plus court costs, allegedly owed for medical services.
Carlinville Area Hospital is suing Alicia Dawn Graves, Modesto, for 44,033.26, plus court costs, allegedly owed for medical services.
Carlinville Area Hospital is suing Anastasia Marie Graves, Carlinville, for $4,392.89, plus court costs, allegedly owed for medical services.
Consumer Adjustment Co., Inc., is suing Jeffrey A. Watson, Gillespie, for $520.13, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed for medical services provided by Washington University School of Medicine.
Consumer Collection Management is suing Hayden and Amanda Powers, Medora, for $2,199, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed for medical services. The judgment sought includes $1,380 allegedly owed to Carlinville Area Hospital and $819 allegedly owed to Jersey Community Hospital.
Consumer Collection Management is suing Chad M. and Diana Murday, Gillespie, for $3,640.14, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed for medical services. The judgment sought includes $3,509.14 allegedly owed to St. Francis Hospital and $131 allegedly owed to Carlinville Area Hospital.,
St. Louis Financial Group is suing Laura J. Mitchell, Staunton, for $2,210.18, plus court costs and interest from July 3, 2016, to the date of judgment, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted $1,300 loan executed April 17, 2015.
CACH, LLC, is suing James W. Kelsey, Carlinville, for $2,455.26, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted First Bankcard credit card account.
Mark Ranger Excavating, Gillespie, is suing Jason Sternickle, doing business as Stern’s Plumbing, Staunton, for $1,102.50 that the plaintiff claims is owed for services.
Sylvia Fitzgerald-Berry, Alton, is suing Cindy Wooten, Mount Olive, for $350 that the plaintiff claims she is owed for a loan.
LVNV Funding is suing Barbara Edgington, Scottville, for $811.93, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Credit One Bank credit card account.
LVNV Funding is suing Vicky Heeren, Bunker Hill, for $1,088.66, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Credit One Bank credit card account.
LVNV Funding is suing Donald Robertson, Gillespie, for $979.17, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Credit One Bank credit card account.
LVNV Funding is suing Cynthia Sons, Girard, for $879.02, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Credit One Bank credit card account.
LVNV Funding is suing Amber Stahlschmidt, Shipman, for $1,207.09, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Credit One Bank credit card account.
LVNV Funding is suing Clayton Vance, Staunton, for $1,190.69, plus court costs, that the plaintiff claims is owed on an allegedly defaulted Credit One Bank credit card account.
FELONIES
Kimberly E. Mollett, 59, Benld, is charged with aggravated battery in connection with a July 29 incident in Staunton during which she allegedly bit a nurse on the arm while knowing the victim to be performing her duties as a nurse.
Matthew A. Sanchez, 34, Staunton, is charged with possessing more than 10 grams but less than 30 grams of a substance containing cannabis with the intent to deliver in connection with a May 19 incident.
Timothy W. Fuller, 33, Granite City, is charged with possession of a controlled substance in connection with a June 16 incident in Gillespie during which he allegedly possessed less than 15 grams of a substance containing hydrocodone.
Ricky L. Flynn, 42, Carlinville, is charged with possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine in connection with an Aug. 2 incident on Illinois Route 4 at Illinois Avenue, Gillespie. He also faces a lesser charge for allegedly being a pedestrian under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
David J. Karrick, 36, Carlinville, is charged with theft and obstruction of justice in connection with a July 20 incident during which Karrick allegedly took unauthorized control of a generator valued at less than $500 with the intent to permanently deprive the owner of the property. The charge was elevated to a felony due to a previous theft conviction on Karrick’s record from 2014 in Macoupin County. The obstruction charge stems from Karrick allegedly telling a Carlinville police officer investigating the theft that he had no knowledge of a stolen generator.
William M. Kellow, 21, Hillsboro, is charged with possession of more than 30 grams but less than 500 grams of a substance containing cannabis with the intent to deliver in connection with an Aug. 2 incident in Mount Olive.
David M. Young, 38, Carlinville, is charged with burglary in connection with a July 19 incident during which he allegedly entered a machine shed in the 14600 block of Adkins Road with the intent to commit a theft.
James E. Wilson, 54, Carlinville, is charged with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and aggravated driving on a revoked driver’s license in connection with a June 17 incident during which he allegedly operated a 1994 Harley-Davidson motorcycle on Illinois Route 108 in Carlinville at a time which his driver’s license was revoked for having been previously convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol.
MISDEMEANORS
Daniel Adams, 29, Gillespie, is charged with cruel treatment of an animal in connection with a June 20 incident during which he allegedly abused a gray pitbull terrier by repeatedly beating the animal with a belt in the presence of children.
Amy L. Furkin, 47, Gillespie, is charged with battery in connection with a July 24 incident in Gillespie during which she allegedly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature by slapping a female victim in the face with her open hand.
Sarah L. Fortner, 39, Fort Smith, Ariz., is charged with retail theft in connection with a June 9 incident in Carlinville during which she allegedly shoplifted a dress and cell phone with a total value of less than $300 from the Carlinville Walmart Store.
Rhonda K. Frost, 57, Mount Olive, is charged with retail theft in connection with a May 4 incident during which she allegedly shop-lifted bags of ice with a total value of less than $300 from the Dollar General Store in Mount Olive.
Ryan T. Bloomfield, 18, Hettick, is charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a July 7 incident in Palmyra during which he allegedly yelled at a male victim and threatened to “beat up” the victim if the victim called the police in such an unreasonable manner as to alarm and disturb the victim and create a breach of the peace.
Stephen S. Goodman, 29, Mount Olive, is charged with obstructing identification in connection with an Aug. 2 incident during which he allegedly gave a false name to a Mount Olive police officer who had legally detained him.
Dylan R. Bennett, 18, Atwater, is charged with unlawful consumption of alcohol by a person under the age of 21 in connection with a July 29 incident at Casey’s General Store in Carlinville.
TRAFFIC
Michael L. Gibson, 46, West Frankfort, is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a July 29 incident at about 11:07 p.m. on Illinois Route 16 near Hideaway Lane. In addition, Gibson faces a traffic charge for allegedly speeding 11 to 14 miles per hour in excess of the posted speed limit.

Staunton man found guilty of criminal sexual assault

BenGil StaffA verdict was rendered on Tuesday in about 35 minutes for a Staunton man who was found guilty of criminal sexual assault.
Dillard Dehart Jr., 66 of Staunton, was charged with the offense on February 17, 2022, after his niece had accused him of the offense and had secretly recorded parts of the offense.
The secretly recorded videos were played for the jury, according to Macoupin County State’s Attorney Jordan Garrison who called multiple witnesses and tried the case.
Sentencing for Dehart Jr. is set for October 4, 2023.
