Also named to All-Tournament squad
ST. LOUIS – Senior third baseman Rachel Faletto, junior outfielder Erin Harcar and senior pitchers Kelcie Matesa and Hannah Huebbe of the Saint Louis softball team were named to the All-Tournament squad at Kennesaw State’s Phyllis Rafter Memorial Tournament that was played Feb. 24-26.
Faletto posted a team-high .545 batting average (6-for-11), three doubles, three RBIs, four runs and one walk in the Billikens’ five games. Harcar batted .333 (6-for-18), drove in three runs, scored three times and stole three bases. Neither player committed an error.
Matesa registered a 1-1 record, one save, one complete game and a 1.50 ERA. She struck out 13 and allowed just eight hits and four walks in 14 innings. Matesa limited opposing hitters to a .174 batting average.
Huebbe was 2-0 with one complete game and a 3.07 ERA. She fanned 11 and walked only four in 13 2/3 innings.
Saint Louis (10-6) plays four games this weekend at the Missouri Breast Cancer Tournament hosted by UMKC. The Billikens face UMKC (3 p.m.) and Missouri State (5 p.m.) Friday, March 2, then take on No. 13 Missouri (11 a.m.) and Southeast Missouri State (1 p.m.) Saturday, March 3.
