Gillespie Middle School announced on Tuesday the October leaders of the month. Receiving the award included Race Eccles, Aliyah Smith, Haeden Kellebrew, Jaydon Baker, Dylan Thomeczek, and Addie Hayes.
Sixth-grader, Haeden Kellebrew, son of Jessica Ross and Jacob Kellebrew, was chosen as Student Leader of the Month because he “is an awesome student, always positive, participates and is focused”. Seventh-grader, Jaydon Baker, son of Nikki and Matthew Baker, was chosen as Student Leader because he is focused and disciplined. Jaydon says, “I want to get good grades before I talk and mess around”.
Eighth-grader, Addie Hayes, daughter of Michael and Kara Hayes, was chosen as Student Leader because she is “trustworthy, polite and considerate of others”. Addie takes pride in helping others. Aliyah Smith, daughter of Dorothy and Aaron Metchalf, was chosen as Student Leader by Ms. Garde. She states that Aliyah has made great effort to improve her grades this year.
Dylan Thomeczek, son of Stacey and Steven Krueger, was chosen as Student Leader by Ms. Bray in physical education. She states Dylan has a positive attitude, is prepared for class and participates to his fullest potential. Dylan says, “Think win-win allows us to have a positive mind set”. Race Eccles, son of Joe and late Tammy Eccles, was chosen as Student Leader by Mrs. Clark. She says, “Race has had a great attitude about school this year and has been putting good effort into all academics”. Race says, “I’m a leader because I am nice and I work hard”.
