Gillespie Middle School announced on Tuesday their leaders of the month for the month of September. Receiving the award include Megan Bourland, Henando Walker, Joie Cox, Ryder Koniak, Lily Brown and Ellie Wilson.
Megan Bourland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Bourland and Christine Bourland, has been chosen by Mrs. Prough as her Student Leader of the Month. Megan says that she learned leadership from her friends who showed her how to be a nicer friend. Hernando Walker, son of Sonya and Hernando Walker, was chosen by Mrs. Clark as her Student Leader. Hernando says he is happy that he can influence others to be nicer.
Joie Cox, daughter of James and Paula Cox, has been chosen by the teachers as a school leader in the 8th grade. They state, “Joie is always coming to class with a smile and ready to take on challenges.” Ryder Koniak, son of Jeff and Jami Koniak, has been chosen as September Student Leader in Physical Education. Ryder states that being a leader involves never giving up.
Lily Brown, daughter of Misty Masinelli and Seth Brown, was chosen as a student leader in the 7th grade. Lily says, “Putting first things first makes our school a better place”. Ellie Wilson, daughter of Jimmy and Steph Wilson, is the 6th grade Student Leader of the Month. Ellie says, “Being a student leader means that you work hard, help others, and have priorities to get your work done.”
