Gillespie Middle School students attended a health and safety day at the school last Friday. They rotated from one classroom to another for several pieces of training and presentations on health and safety.
The training and presentations varied by each grade level. Sixth grade attended sessions on mental health, fire safe, y and hygiene. Seventh grade attended sessions on CPR training, online safety, and traffic safety. Eighth grade attended sessions on making good choices, big brothers/big sisters program and life choices/consequences.
The school extended a thank-you to their presenters: Josh Ross, Jami Koniak, Chief DePoppe, GHS IMPACTD, Whitney Page, Kevin McNicholas, Tyler Link, Tyler Semplowski and Chonna Tupper for helping us make this day possible.
Students were given a bag of popcorn for the last session of the day while they read silently for 30 minutes to celebrate literacy day. The day ended with an extra recess outside.
