Another business is opening in downtown Benld. Country Corner is located at 210B on East Central Avenue in Benld’s business district a couple doors down from First National Bank in Benld.
“We are very proud of our store,” Anne Stinnett said of the store that she co-owns with Chris Cavins. The store opened on October 11 and is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. You can also reach them by phone at 217-835-4438.
Although most of their inventory is one-of-a-kind décor items, shoppers can find a little bit of everything. The store carries a curated selection of antiques and furniture, jewelry, used books, kitchen items, linens, candles, Gourmet Cupboard items and 18” doll clothes. Currently their décor selection is themed with the autumn and Halloween season.
Many of the jewelry items are handmade making the concepts original and creative. Other unique items sold in the store are clip earrings, tie pins, ashtrays, aprons, cross stitch supplies, charts and floss.
Each week the store has a drawing and Wednesday is senior discount day. Current special for the month of October is buy one candle at regular price and get another one half off.
The official ribbon cutting for the store will be held on Sunday, November 6 at 1 p.m. The store will be open until 4 p.m. afterwards.
