After an extensive investigation and evidence discovered at the scene, the Macoupin County Sheriff’s Department issued a wanted notice on Friday afternoon for one of the men involved in the burglary of the Staunton Country Club last August.
Brian D. Raynor of Edwardsville faces a class 2-burglary felony, according to Macoupin County Sheriff Shawn Kahl, with a $100,000 bond. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 217-854-3135 or Macoupin/Montgomery Crime Stoppers by calling 800-352-0136, submitting a tip online or texting a tip to CRIMES.
The club was burglarized and severely damaged on Sunday, August 14, 2016. One of the members checking on the facility around 10:40 p.m. interrupted the burglary and chased two men out of the building before proceeding to chase them on the course until one of the men purportedly threatened to shoot.
A K-9 unit was brought to the scene and Illinois State Police Crime Scene was contacted to aid in tracking the unknown subjects, but weather conditions led to an unsuccessful attempt.
Sheriff Kahl told The BenGil Post in August 2016 that an “unknown amount of money was stolen and “several thousands of dollars in damage was done to the building”.
