One of the most popular bands from last year’s CCCC summer concert series will be taking the stage tonight at 7 p.m. as temperatures begin to fall. The River Ramblers from Springfield, IL will echo the Benld City Park with original bluegrass music.
The five piece band features an upright bass player, a fiddler, a banjo player, a guitarist and a few who lead the group with vocals. The Ramblers are known for their one-liners and entertaining style as the lively music is combined with a degree of personal character.
The group prides themselves on keeping the audience’s attention even if they are not familiar with bluegrass music. The park will open at 6 p.m. with the concession serving bottled water, drinks, hot dogs, “big smokies”, Italian beef and dessert.
The concert and parking is free.
