The Wrestling Wildcats, a co-op between Mt. Olive, Gillespie, Staunton and Bunker Hill, defeated Triad 43-42 and lost to Mascoutah 54-28.
The Wildcats won seven in Triad to tie with Triad and end the score 42-42 before winning the tiebreaker having 12 first points to Triad’s 6. Two of Mt. Olive’s first year wrestlers at 106 from Bunker Hill and 285 from Staunton scored first period take downs even though eventually losing by fall to help get the win for the team.

- At 106 Amber Speitel lost by fall and won by forfeit.
- At 113 Tiffany Tiepleman won by forfeit and lost by fall.
- At 120 Jacob Whited won by forfeit and lost by fall
- At 126 Gavin Bertoldi won by fall and lost by fall.
- At 132 Tyler Jones lost both by fall.
- At 138 Owen Scheller lost both by fall.
- At 145 Evan Morris lost both bouts by fall.
- At 152 Maxx Fritz won both by fall.
- At 160 Jonny Darrah won both by fall.
- At 170 Paige Levi won both by forfeit.
- At 195 Justin Osmoe won by fall and won 9 – 1.
- At 285 John Aljets lost both by fall.
The Wildcats wrestle Carlyle and Waterloo at Carlyle on Nov. 28 with wrestling scheduled to begin at 6:15 and Carlinville and Rochester Thursday, Nov. 30 in Carlinville with wrestling scheduled to start at 6:00 p.m. They wrestle Riverton, Sacred Heart Griffin, and New Berlin on Wednesday, December 6 at Sacred Heart with wrestling scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
