Delores Catherine Favre, 95, of Litchfield, formerly of Mt. Olive, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at 6:20 p.m. at St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield. She was born on June 9, 1920, in Mt. Olive to the late John Kelley and Mabel Beckmann. She married George Jacob Favre on October 27, 1945, at the parsonage of The Church of the Ascension in Mt. Olive. He preceded her in death on September 28, 1994.
She attended Mt. Olive Public School and graduated from Mt. Olive High School with the Class of 1938. Delores was a member of St. John Paul II, formerly The Church of the Ascension, and the Altar and Rosary Society.
She was employed by Brown Shoe Factory in Litchfield and later Acu Rule in Mt. Olive. She was involved with the VFW Ladies Auxiliary #5790 and Mt. Olive Turner Hall where she was the hall manager at one time with her husband George and Sam and June Hinz.
Delores loved to dance, bowl in the Mt. Olive Ladies League at Turner Hall, and most of all loved spending time with family and friends.
She leaves behind two nieces, Shareen Adden of Mt. Olive and Susan (Mark) Godsil of Dixon; nephews, Jim (Pam) Kelley of St. Louis, MO and Michael (Gladys) Kelley of Washington, DC; and many more nieces, nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Leo and Bernard Kelley.
Visitation service will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Becker & Son Funeral Home in Mt. Olive. Rosary will be at 7:45 p.m. led by Father Larry Anschutz. Funeral mass will be on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Paul II in Mt. Olive. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive City Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to Masses, Mt. Olive Academic Foundation or American Diabetes Association.
